This time it took us only half way into the pregnancy to announce the news. It wasn’t so much a secret as it was finding the perfect setting and photographer to capture this special moment. Let’s just say that it was worth the wait. Plus, I must admit, it was quite an amusement watching the churchgoers glancing and wondering if I just had a Chipotle burrito for breakfast. That’s when I began sharing the news with our friends at church and patients at the clinic. Now it’s not as awkward lol
We are absolutely thrilled about the exciting new chapter in our lives. As a family, we welcome the positive stress that comes with meaningful change and are usually quick to adapt. Although, it does not sound easy - being outnumbered to our children - but we are up for this challenge. Children are a blessing and we would love an abundance.
This pregnancy has been completely different from the previous two. From the way I'm carrying to the way my hormones are, I don’t even recognize myself. People were suggesting that it may be an indicator of a completely different baby gender. We would say that it’s only a 50% chance;) We officially found out the gender on September 22. It was such an incredible moment for our family. We found out that we are having a BOY!!! Still in shock and almost in denial, it’s definitely a dream come true!
We have strong faith in the power of our prayer that we prayed in the Wadi Rum Desert (back in May) during our trip to Israel + Jordan. In the itinerary, there is a time when the entire group walks away from camp and into the dark desert for a prayer time. We walked the same desert the Isrealites walked when they were led by God through Moses. We all split and everyone joined their preferred group of people. My husband and I stayed together for a special prayer request. That dark night, the wind was blowing, the sky was glowing, and heaven felt closer than ever. It felt like the right moment to ask God for a miracle. He was right there! Listening to every word that we had to say. So we prayed for a baby boy. We prayed for the man he would be. For all the qualities that will make him, him! We prayed for the heart in him to be after God.
Thank you God for being there and hearing us out. We can not comprehend your love, understand your mercy, and never will. Drench us in your wisdom for we need it most in this moment. Teach us your ways so that they don’t collide with ours. Guide us to lead our son to you. We are still in awe and it means the world to us! We fully surrender when it comes to our son’s journey in life.
When it comes to baby names, the girl list seems to grow longer and longer. It’s easy now that we have a pattern. We find it difficult to choose a boy name that resonates with us and holds a special meaning. And of course, the sound of the name is important as well haha. After finding out the baby’s gender, we believe that we came up with a good option. Still not 100% sure, there is also the delivery day when we get to look the baby in the eyes and figure out the name then. Either way, the baby shall not remain nameless.
Our due date is February the third. That’s our first winter baby. If that baby decides to show up a few days earlier (like Simone did) there is a high chance he will be born on Thad’s birthday! How special would that be? From that moment forward, they will constantly be reminded that they are the greatest gifts to each other, and that should suffice.
We are waiting for you, our sweet blessing!
