5 imperative tips for styling
I hope your week is off to a good start!:) I see that you are optimistically set to enjoy life without “ragrets,” not even one. You make smart choices day after day. On top of that, you understand that the way you look and feel plays an affect on your daily mood. Tired or not, it’s a new day/another chance to achieve your goals today. To me it sounds like you are in the midst of success!
Quoting myself from one of my previous blog posts, “As you prepare for the forthcoming, you better look dope! Wear what will make you feel good! Appropriately choose the outfits that’ll make you look capable of success.” Let’s make a difference in our energy this Tuesday. I propose that we begin our week with the correct fitting. You will acquire your “boss lady” look after you grasp what I believe are the basic rules of styling. Let’s begin?
1.) Find your “IT” colors:
Vivids will brighten your complexion, pastels will mute your glow, and dulls will sophisticate your radiance. Choose the colors that correctly greet your skin tone, undertone, hair and eye color. Try going with pieces that will make your look pop! For example, make sure to show some love to your skin by avoiding clothing that will camouflage with your skin tone. Bring out that glow! Match colors to your eyes to make them sparkle. Explore complementary colors for you hair as well.
2.) Know your body type:
What flatters your body type without being distasteful? Whether you are tall, short, slim, curvy, or heavy, you have a lot of options to choose from. Do your hips need more confidence? Maybe wear puffy skirts and dresses for dimension. Shy about the perfect imperfections? You can never go wrong with baggy tops. To prolong your legs, add a pair of heels instead of platform sandals. And if nothing fits you quite well, then turn to basic rule #3.
3.) Tailor:
Not your size? Not a problem! A little alteration and you can present our nation. Or maybe that one lucky piece can use a full transformation?! Find yourself a good tailor and take their advice into consideration. You want to elevate your outfit by flattering all of the appropriate areas. The tailor has your back. You are both on one team.
4.) Learn to combine:
Good taste gets identified easily. The common mistakes you’re making get spotted continually. Mixing and matching colors and then combining different sorts of fabrics should be fun, yet precise. Practice by putting together silk fabric with knitwear. You can also try combining floral and striped patterns. Be careful not to take it too far. Let the colors of the top flow smoothly into the colors of the bottoms. The sleek transition should be pleasant to the eyes. The final look should seem as if you are wearing a two-piece set.
5.) The right outfit for the right place:
It’s not the best feeling when you show up to a party and you’re the only one wearing a costume. Oops, didn’t get the memo! Do yourself a favor and find out the full information about the event you’ll be attending. From there, you can decide whether you want to stand out or blend in. I’ll give you major respect if you show up wearing a Gucci-inspired outfit.
Phew! Now you can take it from here. Spread your wings! Remember one thing, “an elegant woman will impress the elders and influence the youth.”
Xoxo,
